When talking about freestyle music, Trinere will always be considered one of the top solo acts. In fact, many would say that she is the queen of freestyle. During the mid to late 1980s, Trinere put out hit after hit. Of course, most people didn’t call it freestyle music back then. Trinere was just a talented artist filling the air waves with electronic music that fans loved dancing to.

That album produced hits such as “I know you love me,” “All night,” “I’ll be all you’ll ever need,” “How can we be wrong,” “I know you love me,” and “They’re playing our song.” All of these songs are considered by freestyle music fans to be freestyle classics that will always be cherished.

In the R&B / Hip Hop Charts, “I’ll be all you’ll ever need made it to the #32 spot. “They’re playing our song went to #67, and “All night” went to #68. On the Dance Charts, Trinere’s music did much better. That shouldn’t surprise anyone as fans have always loved to shake their body to the smooth electronic sounds of Trinere’s music. “I’ll be all you ever need” went to #5 on the Dance Chart. “They’re playing our song” went to #13, and “How can we be wrong” went to #15.

How did Trinere begin her music career?

Ever since a young age, Trinere knew that she wanted to be a singer. She attended the University of Miami and studied music. Being a huge Rick James fan and getting into that inner circle, Trinere flirted with becoming a Mary Jane Girl.

That didn’t work out though, and in 1984 Trinere’s big break came when she met established music producer Anthony Ray Butler, better known as Pretty Tony. With his terrific knowledge of producing music and Trinere’s strong vocals, they ended up with a medley of hits. The two would end up becoming romantic for a while, and Trinere had a son with Pretty Tony in 1989.
