Tonasia made his way in to the music world in the late 1980s and became part of what eventually became known as freestyle music. The dance vibes from Tonasia’s music became very popular amongst clubbers and received national radio play. Tonasia had three major freestyle hits during the late 1980s and would eventually move on to work independently while trying to create different genres of music.

Tonasia’s first hit was “Wondering” which hit the airwaves in the summer of 1988. “Game of love” would follow in 1989 and was played nationally across the country on radio stations. This really put the name Tonasia on the map. “Game of Love” would get in to Casey Kasem’s top 40 countdown and eventually hit the top 10. The third big hit from Tonasia was “Tears of tears.”

Tonasia always had music in his blood. His mom was a brilliant piano player who could also sing. This is where Tonasia credits his vocal abilities. Tonasia was signed by Mic Mac Records during the latter part of the 1980s and would end up with major hit songs.
