Timmy T initially wanted to be a rapper, but then decided that dance music might be his thing. He bought some instruments, went into his garage and recorded the song “Time after time.” Timmy went to a Fresno radio station, asked the DJ to play his song, which the DJ did, and before you knew it people were calling the radio station asking who sings that song.
The Fresno radio station told Timmy that he should take a drive down south to the Los Angeles area to see if he can get more exposure with L.A. radio stations. Very popular L.A. station “Power 106 “began playing “Time after time” and before you knew it “Hot 97” in New York began playing it. The song became a coast to coast hit. This got Timmy signed with Quality Records. Soon thereafter, the super hit ballad “One more try” was released and was much more successful than “Time after time.” “One more try” climbed to the top of the charts and sold over a million copies.
