Also on the “In my eyes” album was a song called “Love me for life.” This song was a slow love ballad that was much different from the usual Stevie B dance songs that everyone was used of. “Love me for life” was a hit and made its way to #29 on the U.S. billboard, and up to this point in Stevie B’s career, it was his highest U.S. billboard charting song.

It spent six weeks at the #1 spot on the U.S. Billboard and the U.S. Contemporary Charts. The song was so loved by fans that it prevented hits from iconic singers like Madonna and Whitney Houston from getting to that number one spot. “Because I love you” went gold in the United States and Australia. The song had major International success charting in the top 10 in most of the worlds major music billboards.

As the 1990s progressed, and freestyle music losing ground as the mainstream music, Stevie B still continued to make albums. In 1992, the song “Pump that body” charted at #15 on the U.S. Dance Chart. In 1995, “Dream about you” charted at #29 on the U.S. Billboard and #16 on the U.S. R&B Chart. “Dream about you” was yet another Stevie B Love ballad. For an artist that is known for his classic freestyle dance songs, it’s interesting that Stevie B’s four highest charting songs were all slow love song ballads.
