Sequal

The two girl group “Sequal” is made up of Angie Vollaro and Maria Christensen. The group was created by music producer Lewis A. Martinee. Sequal became one of the earlier freestyle music acts as they had music released in the mid – 1980s.

Under Independent label Joey Boy Records, in 1985, “It’s not too late” was released and became one of the most popular club jams that year. To this day, “It’s not too late” has established itself as an all time favorite freestyle song. The very next year, “She don’t want you” and “Stand by” also became club hits. These club hits caught the attention of major label Capital/EMI Recrds.

In 1988, the groups only album was released. It was simply titled “Sequal.” The hit song “I’m over you” ended up making its way to #11 on the U.S. Dance Charts. “Tell the truth” was another hit for the girls which hit #9 on the U.S. Dance Charts. The group never had a song chart the U.S. Billboards Top 100, but “Sequal” made enough impact with their popularity at dance clubs to always be appreciated in the freestyle music world.
