NIce N’ Wild was a three member freestyle band that enjoyed success during the freestyle era. There are most noted for their freestyle song “Diamond Girl.” Band members included David Torres, Reggie Pierre and Remy Palacios.

Whenever anyone thinks of Nice N’ Wild, the first song that comes to their mind is “Diamond Girl.” The single was released in 1986 and immediately gained fame by becoming one of the top dance tracks of the year.

The success of Diamond Girl” caught the attention of Atlantic Records. The following year, 1986, Nice N’ Wild recorded a full length album titled “Energy, Love and Unity.” The song “Diamond Girl” was on the album as well as a couple of other songs that were originally released as singles, “Obsession” and “Oh baby.” These songs, as well as the rest of the albums tracks were not as successful as “Diamond Girl.”

Another album from the group wasn’t released until 1996 titled “Infatuation.” The album featured the track “Infatuation” and a cover of the Bill Withers hit “Ain’t no sunshine.” None of the songs from this album were as successful as the group had anticipated.

John Mimmus was the lead vocalist on Diamond Girl although you won’t find him credited. He was not part of the Nice N’ Wild group. Due to family obligations, and a distaste for the music industry, John Mimmus essentially lent his voice to the group.
