Linear was a group that originated in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The band acclaimed fame with their hit “Sending all my love.” The main core of the group included lead singer Charles Pennachio, Wyatt Pauley and Joey Restivo.

Under their own record label, Linear would release the song “Sending all my love to you” which was a giant hit. The very next year, the success of the song got them signed to Atlantic Records. In 1990, the self titled album “Linear” was released, and the first single released from the album “Sending all my love” became an instant hit again. This song, which became the bands signature song reached #5 on the U.S. Billboard Top 100 Chart. Due to the popularity of this song, it helped tremendously in pushing the album to #52 on the U.S. Billboard Top 200 Album Chart.

Another song from the “Linear” album was “Don’t you come cryin” which peaked at #70 on the U.S. Billboard Top 100 Chart. Other songs from the album inclided “Something going on,” “Heartache” and “You’re my lady.” These recordings were not as successful as hoped. Nevertheless, the song “Sending all my love” made Linear a freestyle sensation, and the popularity of the group grew tremendously.

A couple of years later, 1992, Linear released their second album titled “Caught in the middle.” From this album would come the hit song “T.L.C” which charted at #30 on the U.S. Billboard Top 100 Chart. No other songs from the album charted. In 1994, Linear released a single called “Let’s go all the way.”

How did Linear get started?

The group started their own record label called Futura Records. What followed was a push to get “Sending all my love” played on the radio, and the group promoted in themselves by contacting radio DJs across the country to try to get their song played. A few stations played it, and the song did very well for them. From that, the group would call up other radio stations and tell them how other radio stations were already playing the song and how they needed to get on it. Everything would fall into place from there.
