Lil Suzy was so young when she began her singing career

There are not many successful singers that we can think of that start out while they are under 10 years of age. The first person to come in to most people’s minds may be Michael Jackson. If we talk about singers that hit it big time while in their teens, we can easily come up with a long list of names. But, those still in their elementary school years are rare. Freestyle singer Lil Suzy is one of those rare ones.

Lil Suzy was only 5 years old when she began singing

Lil Suzy began her singing career at the ripe old age of five. At this age, most of us were still clinging on to our parents. But, Lil Suzy was out there singing at Manhattan Beach, New York dazzling crowds. An agent would spot this young talent, and before anybody knew it she had become the opening act for Thelma Houston and the Village People. There was no doubt in anyone’s mind that this little girl would soon be a star.

Lil Suzy was only 8 when she recorded her first record

At the age of eight, Lil Suzy was signed to her first recording contract with Fever Records. A song called “Randy” would be released. When she was 12, she would record her first studio album titled “Love Can’t Wait.” From that album would be the song “Take me in your arms” which blew up. Lil Suzy had such a mature voice that it was almost unbelievable that this song was recorded by a 12 year old. Whenever anybody puts together a list of freestyle classics, “Take me in your arms” will always be on that list.
