Corina made her name in the freestyle genre with dance hits spanning from 1989 to 1997. Her popularity skyrocketed and before anybody knew it, Corina was making appearances on “Entertainment Tonight,” “Showtime at the Apollo” etc. Corina has toured with some of the biggest names in the music industry such as Boys II Men, Ice Cube and Marky Mark.


Although Corina has always had a main interest in music, she also had other ambitions. She ended up on the big screen in 1999 in a movie called “Cradle will rock.” In this movie, Corina plays famous Mexican painter Frida Kahlo.

In 1991, under Atco Records, Corina released her self titled album “Corina.” From this album would come Corina’s biggest hit of her career with “Temptation” which made its way to #6 on the U.S. billboard Top 100 and #22 on the Hot Dance Music / Club Play Chart. “Whispers” would also make the U.S. Billboard Top 100 coming in at #51. “Now that you’re gone” became another dance favorite as it hit #28 on the Hot Dance Music / Club Play Chart.

In 1997, Corina made a remake of Nocera’s “Summertime Summertime” song, and it was well received as it made its way to #86 on the U.S. Billboard. In 2011, Corina began making Spanish music in the Salsa genre. A genre Corina has stated that her mother used to annoy her with when she was growing up. Of course, as a Latina, Corina reached a point in her life where she appreciated Salsa music, and many of her fans appreciated her singing in Spanish. A big Salsa hit for Corina was “Aunque me duela.”
